My Mission Call

Over the summer I made the decision to serve a mission.  So, when the announcement was made in general conference that Sister Missionaries could now serve at the age of 19 I immediately called my Bishop and met with him the next day.  After two weeks my mission papers were officially in.  Not even a week later I recieved a call from my Stake President saying that my mission call would be here the next week, most likely on Wednesday.  Words cannot even begin to describe how I felt when I heard this news. I was nervous, excited, happy, worried, anxious, and any other emotion you can imagine.  I was freaking out...but in a good way!
My mission call came on October 31, 2012, Halloween.  When it got to my house I held it for a minute, tried to peek through (it's not possible), and then quickly handed it to my Mom to hide because I wasn't opening it until 8:30 that night which seemed like an eternity.  I tried to keep myself occupied for the rest of the day which was hard.

We put up a map so that people could guess where they thought I would be going.  (I wish we would have taken a better picture of it.) Everyone got a stateside and a foreign guess.  I however did not guess...atleast outloud.  I can honestly say that no one, including me, came close to guessing right.
When I opened my call I read it and stared at it for several minutes.  People say I had a weird look on my face.  That's because I was trying to figure out where in the world it was.  And as much as I wanted to know where I was going I had to scan through first to see when I reported.  I have been called to the Adriatic North Mission.  I report to the Provo MTC on March 27, 2013 (Happy Birthday Dad!).
After the initial shock  went away I got a calm feeling letting me know that I have been called exactly where I need to be.  I know that the Adriatic North Mission needs me for the next 18 months and the more I learn about the mission the more excited I get to serve the people of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Serbia in the Croatian language!
